For those who think Social Security is a political “ponzi scheme”

All of us who live in the complex world of Social Security from time to time hear someone ranting about Social Security “going bankrupt”. If they’re younger, they lament that it surely won’t be there when it’s time for them to collect. If they’re older they complain that it certainly won’t be there for their children or grandchildren. Name calling abounds with monikers such as “ponzi scheme,” “government boondoggle,” “ripoff,” etc., being used to describe America’s most important program for keeping the poverty level at a record low.
