How long will your retirement last?

Plenty of advice is available for those approaching retirement, and most of it focuses almost entirely on the financial aspects of your golden years.  Mainly, most advisors will tell you, you should strive to build your nest egg as large as you can before you retire, because you’ll need it as a source of income after you retire.  But what’s missing from most advice offered is a strategy focused on estimating how long you might expect your retirement to last – in other words, how long will you live after you retire.  Of course, there are no guarantees, but this Motley Fool article by Chuck Saletta provides a life expectancy chart which shows, on average, expected longevity for different current ages and, thus, how long your retirement might last.  Click here to read more.
