Newest Trustee Report on Social Security

The newest report from the trustees of the Social Security Administration was just released this week. This report shows information such as how the trust fund is doing, how funding is going, and whether we are on track for benefit increases in the coming year. The report showed that we should expect a 0.2% increase in benefits in 2017 from the COLA calculations. The report also goes in to detail regarding the insolvency crisis and has pegged 2034 as the year in which the trust fund will dry up. This sets a deadline for finding a fix to the current Social Security system. For more information visit this article by Andrew Biggs with Forbes.
