Scam warning from the Social Security Administration

Social Security’s Inspector General has issued a warning to senior citizens about a phone scheme targeting former clients of a Kentucky disability lawyer.  The lawyer, Eric C. Conn, has fled prosecution after pleading guilty to defrauding Social Security.  The phone scam offers citizens thousands of dollars in return for sending $200 to a special fund set up for compensation to Attorney Conn’s former clients.  The Social Security Administration is alerting seniors that it is not making these phone calls, that the calls are fraudulent, and to hang up if they receive any such calls.  Click here to read the Social Security Administration’s notice about this phone scam.
