Social Security Disability Approval Rates Drop To Lowest Level In Five Years,

The approval rate for people seeking Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits has dropped to its lowest level in five years, according to Allsup, the nations premier disability representation company®. Only 48 percent of those who sought disability benefits were approved at the hearing level in fiscal 2103, and only 33 percent of claimants were approved with their initial application. Its becoming increasingly difficult for people with disabilities to receive the SSDI benefits they deserve and paid for while working, said Mike Stein, assistant vice president of claims at Allsup.
