“Spoofing” – Yet another attempt to scam

In yet another attempt to fool people into revealing their personal information, scammers are now using a technique known as “spoofing” to try to separate you from your money. Spoofing is a term assigned to the illegal manipulation of caller ID information to make it appear as though a call you are receiving is from someone local. Scammers and telemarketers know that people look at Caller ID to help decide if a call should be answered, so have developed this scam to get you to answer the phone.
