Listening to the sometimes hysterical hyperbole of liberals in Congress and often in the media, Republicans are the devil incarnate when it comes to Social Security.  Accusations that they want to “gut” Social Security at the expense of America’s seniors and disabled seem to resonate across the airwaves and in print, with a primary goal of gaining votes from those gullible enough to believe the rhetoric. But reality is that those accusers, usually liberal Democrats in Congress, are equally responsible for Social Security’s current woes, and the apparent stalemate for how to fix them.
