The Social Security Trustee Report

The recent report released by the Social Security Trustees attempts to bring attention to the shortcomings of the current Social Security System, namely in its solvency problem. The Social Security trust fund is slated to run dry by 2034. Should this happen, every beneficiary will be facing cuts in benefits to the tune of 21%. This is a call to action for policy makers to work on a solution sooner rather than later. There are many proposals floating around by the industry’s leading professionals and academics.
