Waiting is Not Always the Best Idea to Apply for Benefits

Most of the advice going around concerning when to start applying to receive Social Security benefits says that the best course of action is to wait until the max possible age. While this does offer the highest returns on your benefits, it is still very much a case by case basis on when you should personally apply for Social Security. The amount of time you should wait totally depends on your personal situation, including how much you have in other retirement accounts, how long you realistically plan to live, and what other benefits you are eligible to receive.
