What you can do about the Equifax data breach

By now most consumers know about the massive breach of personal information for about 143 million Americans.  Equifax has been scrambling trying to offer suggestions for how to protect yourself, but the suggestions they’re offering are mostly about using their own credit monitoring service.  But there are a lot more steps you should take to protect yourself from fraudulent use of your personal information which, by the way, included your Social Security number thus exposing your retirement benefits to risk.  And the risk will be there for decades, as this NBC News article points out.  Click here to read more about what you can do to protect yourself from the Equifax data breach.
