Women Saving for Retirement

A recent report from Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney detailed the troubles faced by women in the Social Security system and retirement. The report found that on average women earn $10,800 less than men each year while working, totaling as much as $500,000 over the entirety of a career. In retirement this translates to less savings and less benefits; women’s income in retirement is 44% lower on average compared to men.
