A Quick Year-End Synopsis of Social Security Changes for 2021

As we take breath at year-end and adjust our mindsets for the coming year, it’s always good to reflect on what’s ahead for Social Security that everyone needs to know. For example, while the 1.3% cost-of-living adjustment is well known by virtually everybody, it’s also good to be sure you understand what the net effect will be in your benefit payment, given the Medicare premium details. Likewise, it’s important to know the various inflation-adjusted parameters and how they’re affected for 2021.   1. The devil is in the details. My monthly benefit for 2021 went up 1.01305%. I am being overpaid by $.14 per month, $1.68 per year. The calculation is never correct.

    Over the last 10 Years I have been under paid as much as $7.56 per year and over paid as much as 8.28. Close enough for the goverment.
    How many Social Security beneficiaries ? 60 million approx?
