Checking the Status of your Stimulus Payment

Somewhat understandably because of the volume of recipients and rapidity of deployment, a degree of confusion exists about who is eligible for a coronavirus stimulus payment, and how and when those payments will be disbursed. Payments starting flowing quickly to those who filed income taxes in 2019 (or 2018) and who were getting an electronic tax refund. But for those who were not required to file income taxes or didn’t include banking information on their income tax return, the situation was a lot less clear. But now, the IRS has deployed a special online portal anyone can use to find out if they’re eligible, and how and when their CARES Act stimulus payment will arrive. This C.NET article by Clifford Colby explains in detail how to use the IRS’ “Get My Payment” application to track the status of your coronoavirus stimulus payment. Click here to read more.

The economic impact payment process is administered by the IRS; unfortunately, we are not involved in the details of the process. You can check the status of your stimulus payment by going to IRS.gov and clicking on Where’s My Payment. If your payment has been processed it will tell you when your check is being mailed or, if already sent, when it was to have been received.
