Stimulus Payments: A Quick Reference Guide for SS and SSI recipients

The Social Security Administration has developed a guide to help beneficiaries of Social Security benefits (retirement, disability or survivors), and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients determine if they need to take any action to receive their economic relief (stimulus) payment and, if so, what action is needed.  Using this guide, which includes instructions and information on obtaining child payments as well, it’s fairly easy for any SS or SSI recipient to know if they need to taken any action, and how their stimulus payment will arrive. Click here to access the SSA’s quick reference guide for SS beneficiaries.

The IRS has not shared details of how stimulus payments will be processed, so we cannot answer your question. FYI, stimulus payments are administered by the IRS and not the Social Security Administration, and we are not privy to how the IRS is handling stimulus payments; we can only report on the information the IRS posts at its coronavirus website. You can check your payment status daily at this website: http://www.irs.gov/coronavirus-tax-relief-and-economic-impact-payments.

  1. Please help me . I’m on SSI and I don’t claim no one . I used the non fillers form and filled out everything it said . It didn’t ask for my gross income . My dad is over my check but my bank , checks and everything is in my name cause I get my money in my bank not him and I don’t know what to do now . Cause when I go to the where’s my check , It says not enough info , or not eligible. I get $783 a month and it’s direct deposit in my bank . When I used that form I gave them my bank info everything it said to do . Now I’m scared I won’t get my stimulus check . Please help please .

  2. I filled out the form for non-filers because I receive disability and I have two dependents. I filled out the form in the second week of April and claimed my dependents. I received my stimulus payment this week. It was 1200.00 and did not have the 500.00 for each one of my children. I don’t understand why the dependents were still ignored. I beat the deadline for sure.
