2027 COLA Watch – Mark Your Calendar - The Motley Fool

October 14 is the date that Social Security Administration officials expect to announce next year’s cost-of-living adjustment. Current projections indicate that beneficiaries can expect a 3.4% to 3.6% increase, higher than the 2.8% average over the past three years. The increase would, of course, be a welcome relief for seniors and others relying on Social Security benefits, but it’s a double-edged sword, since it also reflects the increased costs seniors—and everyone else, for that matter—face.
