Social Security Benefits and Government Penson Policy News

The Social Security Fairness Act of 2013 is currently under review. The policy would repeal the government pension offset requirement. In general, the library of Congress reports that the repeal relates to the reduction of insurance benefits with respect to federal, state, or local government employees who receive a government pension. Some federal workers did not pay Social Security taxes during their years of government service and therefore did not earn entitlement to Social Security Benefits during those years. Read more…
