Full Medicare Coverage Needed for CT Lung Cancer Screening

National Medicare coverage of low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening for patients at high risk for lung cancer needs to be implemented, quickly, say several medical organizations, including the American College of Radiology (ACR). Medical and patient groups are requesting that The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) provide full national coverage for high-risk patients following the December 2013 release of the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) B recommendation, which stated that screening should be done on adults ages 55 to 80 who have a 30 pack-year smoking history and who currently smoke or have quit within the past 15 years...Read More
