Social Security Scarcity a Myth, Group Says

Thursday in Defiance, at the United Auto Workers building, Michael Phelan of Social Security Works spoke to an audience about what he calls the “myths” surrounding social security and how people can work to change the general consensus about what he deems a necessary and vital program. Social Security Works is a Washington D.C.-based advocacy group formed in 2010, in response to attempted cuts to Social Security. Phelan first spoke about the framing of the issue by the media.
