Baby Boomers and the New Retirement

Baby Boomers are blazing a new trail in retirement, redefining the term. Half of all Boomers plan to work well in to retirement, whether it is continuing in their career or picking up part time work. This is for a multitude of reasons. Some simply need to continue working in order to continue with any sort of quality of life, but many are just bored and looking for something to keep them busy. This new movement is starting to show health benefits as well. Scientists are finding that those that continue working are maintaining better health than those that choose to spend their retirement in leisure and relaxation. These health benefits are shown in decreased rates of stroke, dementia, and disability among those that continue to work.
