Survey Says: Confusion Reigns on the Retirement Savings Front

The 2016 TIAA Lifetime Income Survey produced some concerning statistics regarding Americans and their understanding of the financial  aspects of retirement planning. From the more than 50% of survey respondents who weren’t aware of how much they’ve saved to the more than one-third who weren’t sure how much of an income stream their savings would produce, the survey findings underscored what may be a misplaced level of comfort with respect to Americans’ understanding of what they need to be sure their retirement years are well-planned.
