New initiative helps Vets get faster disability decisions.

The Social Security Administration has just announced a new initiative with the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve access of VA medical records to SSA disability claims processing offices.  That means that veterans applying for Social Security disability benefits will see their applications processed faster and more efficiently.  Appropriately, this new program went live on Veterans Day this year.  To read more about this new joint SSA/VA “Health IT” program, click here.
