CMS proposes rule doing away with artificial limits on Medicare Advantage plans

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services this week published a proposed rule doing away with what it calls “artificial limits” on Medicare Advantage plans. Under current Medicare rules, Medicare Advantage plans offered by the same sponsor in the same county have to be substantially different from each other in terms of premiums, cost sharing and benefits.
