Don’t fall for Social Security scams
It seems there is no end to the number and kind of fraud attempts that criminals will use to try to get at your money, and targeting seniors seems to be a very popular type of scam these days. Those of us on Social Security usually rely heavily on those benefits coming in, so a call from someone claiming that those benefits are in jeopardy will usually get your attention. But beware! The Social Security Administration doesn’t make unsolicited calls to beneficiaries, so if you get one it almost certainly is a scammer trying to con you into providing them with personal information they can use to steal your identity.
