What will your 2019 Social Security benefit be?

If you follow the news, by now you know that the Social Security Administration just announced that all recipients will receive a 2.8% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) starting in 2019. But if you want to know how much that means to you, you don’t have to wait until you get your benefit check in January to find out. There are two ways you can get this information: If you have an online “My Social Security Account” you can set your preferences to be notified by mail or text; if you don’t have an online account, Social Security will be mailing notices to all beneficiaries in December to tell them what their 2019 benefit amount will be.
