Full Retirement Age – Few know what it is or what it means

Do you know your full retirement age as it pertains to Social Security?  Apparently not many Americans do.  It is easily mixed up with early retirement age and maximum retirement age.  Maurie Backman explains that what it is and when it is depends on birth year.  He also cautions that no one needs to claim Social Security then, as benefits grow by 8% annually between full retirement age (between 66 and 67) and age 70.  As always, the decision on when to claim is personal and should be based on circumstances like income from other work, health, and other savings.  Read full piece here.
