More Reasons Not to File at Age 62

The impulse to file for Social Security retirement benefits at the earliest possible age is still strong, despite the fact that monthly benefits will be lower for the rest of one’s life. From an actuarial standpoint, it doesn’t really make any difference when you file, as long as your life span mirrors the tables used to determine the amounts, but what if you live longer than the actuaries project?
