New Online Video Service for Social Security Appeal Hearings
Appealing a Social Security decision often results in an in-person hearing with an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) who reviews all of the pertinent facts of the case, allows you to present your appeal in person, and renders an independent judgement. But in the age of the pandemic, these in-person interviews with the ALJ aren’t available, resulting most such appeals being conducted by telephone since the beginning of the Coronavirus plague. Now the Commissioner of Social Security has announced that online video conferences with the ALJ are available, and all it requires is that you have a camera-enabled device, such as your computer, your smart phone, or tablet. All of this is explained in this SSA announcement appearing at Hudson Valley 360. Click here to read more.
