Here’s Social Security’s Payment Schedule - LAGRADA

Social Security sends out millions of benefit payments all month long and, obviously, payments to all beneficiaries are not made on the same day each month. Fact is, the Social Security Administration has a very specific schedule for who gets benefits when, and payments are distributed over the entire month. As this LaGrada article explains, some payments are made on the 1st day of the month and others are made on the 3rd of the month. Still others are made on either the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Wednesday of the month. But what if your scheduled payment date falls on a weekend or holiday? Well, in that case you’ll get your payment on the first preceding (earlier) business day. When your payment will be in your bank account depends on what type of payment you are receiving, as explained in the article. Click here to find out when your payment will be received.

Also, if you’re unsure about how these basics apply to you, or if you have any questions about your individual situation under Social Security, note that the AMAC Foundation provides a free-to-the-public advisory service to help Americans navigate the complexities of this program.
