    • Charlotte,
Our heart goes out to you for your healthcare issues, which you obviously have been struggling with for a long time, as well as the more recent issues you’ve had with your finances and in your personal life. You haven’t provided your age, but since you say you are now receiving “over 799 part social security” I assume you are receiving either your own SS retirement benefits and possibly spousal benefits from your husband. Those benefits should continue un-interrupted even after your divorce from your husband is finalized (although you should contact Social Security to advise them of the divorce once finalized). In addition to your Social Security benefits, you may also wish to visit this website sponsored by the National Council on Aging – http://www.benefitscheckup.org – to get a full assessment of all public assistance which may be available where you live. At this site, you can simply enter your zip code, answer a few very basic questions, and get back a complete listing of all public assistance you may be eligible for, including contact information for each.
Charlotte, we wish you well, and if you have any specific questions about your Social Security benefits please feel free to contact us directly at [email protected], or call us directly at 1.888.750.2622 to speak directly with one of our Social Security Advisors.
