The next step in preventing fraud - The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget
In recent weeks, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that the “Fraud Takedown” resulted in the prosecution of over 300 defendants who committed over $14.6 billion worth of fraud against the Medicare program. The Medicare program is the second-largest program in the federal budget. The program has been riddled with fraud for many years, according to estimates from the National Health Care Anti-Fraud Association. Taxpayers are losing more than $100 billion a year to Medicare and Medicaid fraud. The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget cited the next steps that CMS will take to reduce fraud and wasteful services. Read their blog here…
