Medicare Costs Increasing in 2027 - Investopedia
As we are all so acutely aware, healthcare costs for retirees have been going up for years, and it looks like 2027 will be no exception! As discussed in this Investopedia article by Elizabeth Guevara, Medicare Part B monthly premiums (for outpatient services) are slated to increase by $6.60 per month – to $209.50 (from $202.90 in 2026). The spending cap for Medicare Part D prescription drug plans is going up as well, and the Part D subsidies will end as well. And due to cost cutting measures by private insurers, many are dropping their Medicare Advantage plans or changing their coverage, so if you have a Medicare Advantage plan, be sure to review your coverage options during the upcoming Open Enrollment Period that starts on October 15th.
