A Call for Action on Social Security’s Solvency Dilemma

The Concord Coalition, a non-partisan fiscal advocacy organization serving as a source of information on the risks and consequences of a growing federal debt and unsustainable fiscal policies, recently issued a “call to action” stressing the importance of taking action on Social Security’s long-term solvency problem. Citing the eventual impact on younger workers if no corrective action is taken–and soon–the coalition’s warning is this: “The unconscionable political dynamic of all this is that as the problem grows bigger, political leaders seem even less inclined to do anything about it.” They close with a clear message to young voters (actually, to all voters): “Demand Action.” Read the Coalition’s article by their executive director Robert L.
