A Rumor on Social Security's Problems That Won't Go Away - YouTube
Sometimes, the commentary you see on YouTube causes you to pause. Such was the case yesterday when a clip from Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA-10) surfaced in the collection of Social Security-related alerts. Rep. Perry suggests that protecting Social Security requires that the continued “raiding” of the program’s trust fund assets must stop. Unfortunately, this perpetuates a long-standing myth about what has led to Social Security’s looming insolvency problem, as explained in a recent AMAC.is Newsline post.
The good news is that Rep. Perry closes the clip by suggesting that there’s nothing in the current rhetoric about reforming Social Security that is “off the table.”
