In a stark contrast to reality for today’s Social Security recipients, only a small percentage of America’s younger generations think that Social Security will be a major source of their retirement income. In fact, in a recent Transamerica survey, only 17% of millennials and 26% of Gen-Xers felt that Social Security would be their primary income source in their golden years. And that’s good news, if it spurs those younger generations to save even more for their future.
