AEI Schedules Program on Poverty and the Social Safety Net

American Enterprise Institute visiting scholar Dr. Bruce D, Meyer is scheduled to lead a panel of experts July 10 as they discuss Dr. Meyer’s recent research on extreme poverty, how it interacts with the social safety net, and how it has been inaccurately estimated in the past. Although not explicitly cited in the AEI announcement, it’s likely that Social Security will factor into this discussion, at least with respect to the old-age and disability segments of the program.
