An SSA warning about phone scams

We’ve published many articles on this website about scammers posing as Social Security representatives, but the pervasiveness of the problem bears frequent repeating. In this Walterboro (SC) Live article by the Social Security Administration’s  Public Affairs Specialist Tony Williams, the author describes how scammers are calling seniors and trying to coerce them into revealing personal information or to pay money to resolve an issue with their Social Security account. As described in the article, all such calls are scams and the best action is to hang up and report the call to oig.ssa.gov/report.
