Another Call for a “Bipartisan Commission” to Study Social Security Insolvency

Although it’s been discussed off and on for the past couple of years, no concrete steps have been taken to create a bipartisan commission to develop a solution to the fast-approaching cliff facing Social Security. Lawler advocates forming such a commission, while Rep. Latimer recently expressed interest in “… a full and fair analysis of how to secure the Social Security trust funds.” Tax Watch and government accountability columnist David McKay Wilson, in a post today on the Rockland/Westchester Journal News website discusses the Representatives’ views, along with commentary from Heritage Foundation’s Rachel Greszler.
