Are you forfeiting free money from your employer?

Building a nest egg to take with you into retirement is something that should be in everyone’s plan for their future. Unfortunately, far too many pre-retirees find themselves with very little money saved, which could portend a pretty rocky road in their so-called golden years. Studies show that about 30% of American workers aren’t taking full advantage of their employer’s retirement plans, potentially foregoing “free money” that about 96% of those employers offer in their plans.  Most employers offer at least some level of matching of employee’s contributions as a benefit, but too few workers are taking full advantage of the opportunity to build their savings at rates they could never get anywhere else, as this article by Todd Campbell, appearing at NWI.com (Northwest Indiana Times), explains.
