Attitudes Toward Retirement Are Shifting

It seems the thought of picking a retirement date and walking away is a thing of the past. The 2024 Annual Retirement Study from Allianz Life seems to support this attitude change, with nearly half of survey participants indicating an intent to gradually withdraw from full-time employment, and 61 percent suggesting that part-time employment will be the norm for them during their retired years. Some suggest this necessary to stay engaged, while others see it as a financial necessity. In any event, longer life expectancies associated with today’s demographics appear to be enabling many to better support their intended life style in retirement.
