Baby Boomer’s Grasp on the Holidays

Each year the radio stations are flooded with the “Traditional” Christmas songs that they play every year. Not many realize when these traditional songs started their reign as the quintessential holiday tunes. Most of these songs were first introduced to the airways in the 50s and 60s and are now just a nostalgic hold over for Baby Boomers. It is very rare that new songs are introduced in to the line-up, usually a new version or cover of an old song reinterpreted by a current popular artist that is promptly forgot about in the next years playlist.
