Blum, King support legislation to root out Social Security abuses

Rep. Rod Blum became the first co-sponsor to legislation introduced by his Iowa colleague, Rep. Steve King, that would root out Social Security payment abuses. The Social Security Integrity Act aims to stop Social Security payments that continue to be made to people that are deceased. The legislation is in part based on Office of Inspector General recommendations that would annotate the records of those beneficiaries who are living beyond “reasonable life expectancies.”
