CMS expanding its efforts to audit MA plans

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced it is expanding its efforts to audit Medicare Advantage (MA) plans risk adjustment payments through the Risk Adjustment Data Validation (RADV) program. A risk adjustment factor (RAF) is calculated for each member based on individual attributes that contribute to costs of care, including age, sex, health conditions, and socioeconomic status. CMS uses risk adjustment to determine monthly capitation payments to Medicare Advantage plans. The reports have shown that CMS has overpaid Medicare Advantage plans by $75 billion in 2023. The Committee for Responsible Federal Budget published a blog on how CMS is taking steps to recover overpayments from Medicare Advantage plans. Read their blog here…

  1. THE SOCIAL SECURITY FUNDS SHOULD BE USED FOR ONLY SOCIAL SECURITY ONLY AND USED FOR OTHER RESOURCESS! THE PLAN EXSPRESSLY SAYS SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION FUNDS! AND NOT SOME OTHER DEPARTMENTAL EXSPENDATURE PROCESS! THOSE PEOPLE PAY INTO IT DIRECTLY FROM THEIR PAY CHECKS! AND EXPECT IT TO BE THERE WHEN THEY RETIRE! AND THEIR FUNDS NOT TO BE SENT TO SOME OTHER PART OF THE WORLD! IF A BILL IS MADE FOR A PURPOSE THAN MAKE IT SO TO BE TRUE!
BUT DON’T SHORT CHANGE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OUR WORD IS OUR BOND TO PUT TRUTHFULLY! LIES IS WHAT BRAKES DOWN OUR GOVERNMENT AND PEOPLE! TRUTHS IS WHAT KEEPS OUR GOVERNMENT UNITED!

    • Hello Anthony,
We understand your financial plight, but we also know that no Social Security money is used for any purpose other than paying Social Security benefits to those who have earned those benefits. That is the law as was established by FDR and his Congress when the Social Security Act was first enacted in August of 1935. No SS benefits have been sent to other countries, nor even other U.S. government departments. You may find this article interesting: https://amacfoundation.org/straight-talk-about-social-security/

  2. I feel that peolpe that are able to work should not be on MEDICARE AND MEDICAID AND MEDICAID ADVANAGE!
AND THOSE WHO HAVE FILLED OUT FALSE CLAIMS SHHOULD BE MADE TO REPAY 50% BACK OF WHAT WAS RECEIVE BY THE RECIPIENT.
And the funds that are sent to the SOCIAL SECURITY FUND!
The funds should be used the the SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION SREVICES AND DISPURTSEMENT OF FUNDS TO LEGAL AND AUTHORIZED RECIPIENTS THAT WHO ARE APPROVED BY THE ADMINISTRATION. A NEW SECTION OF CODE THE CLAIMANT MUST SHOW PROOF THAT HE OR SHE IS ALIVE AND NOT PASSED ON AND HAVE DECEASED! BECAUSE THE ADMINISTRATION BY THE RATINGS THOUSANDS OF CLAIMS BY DESEASED PEOPLE! TGHE ADMINISTRATION MUST MAKE SURE THAT EACH RECIPIANT IS LIVING AND AND HAS NOT DECEASED! WHICH WILL BE A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT AT ALL COST NO ACCEPTIONS ALLOWED!

    • Hello again, Anthony,
Please rest assured that this is a topic very much on the agenda of the current Administration, as it searches for ways to reduce fraud in Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. Indeed, President Trump has directed the Secretary of Health and Human Services to specifically address any instances of fraud in the Medicaid area of Social Security’s responsibility. It is, however, important to understand that Medicaid benefits are not paid from Social Security funds, rather they are paid from the U.S. General Treasury and by the person’s State of residence. Social Security only administers Medicaid benefits along with each U.S. State. Also, please be aware that the Social Security Administration already has a robust process in place to prevent benefits from being paid to people who haven’t earned them (despite many media reports to the contrary).
Anthony, I hope this is helpful, but please feel free to contact us directly at SSAdvisor@amacfoundation.org if you have further questions or comments.
      Best regards,
