Commissioner Weighs in on Social Security problems
In a post yesterday on newsweek.com, Social Security commissioner Martin O’Malley made a case fo prioritization of steps to ward off two major problems facing the program: the looming funding crisis and the evolving customer service crisis. Stressing that “…staffing is continuing to decline, while the number of beneficiaries we serve keeps growing,” O’Malley wanted that without funding corrections (on both counts actually) Members of Congress face a growing number of “… angry constituents upset about wait times and Social Security.” Read the post by Consumer & Social Trends reporter Suzanne Blake here…
