COVID-19 Payments for Social Security Beneficiaries

The coronavirus pandemic, and the Government’s response in the form of an economic stimulus to most Americans, has many wondering when they will receive their stimulus payment. Although some who filed for a refund on their 2019 income taxes have already received their payment, others are left wondering when their payment will arrive. And among those still wondering are many Social Security beneficiaries who are either not required to file income taxes or do not include banking information on their IRS 1040 return. Not surprising considering the massive size of this stimulus effort, the IRS – the agency distributing the money – had to scramble to get the dollars flowing into the economy quickly.
