Crusader for disability rights speaks at Shasta College commencement

For the hundreds who gathered to either walk, or watch, at the Shasta College graduation, Richard Pimentel had many messages. “I decided to go to jail, and it was the best decision I ever made,” said Pimentel, who has made a career out of fighting for the rights of people with disabilities. He told the graduating class to believe in themselves, and then believe in someone else, at the college’s commencement at the campus stadium Friday night.
