Deck stacked against women

Women have a tougher time in retirement than men. Some 19 percent of women age 65 and older are living alone and in poverty, according to a report released last week by Sen. Patty Murray, D-Washington, ranking member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Men have it better: Only about 11 percent of those 65 and older are poor and living alone.
