Deutch hails decision to preserve Social Security COLAs

South Florida Congressman Ted Deutch on Friday praised President Barack Obama’s decision this week to preserve Social Security cost-of-living raises. The president has rejected the idea of using the “Chained-CPI” – a different way of figuring inflation — which would reduce Social Security raises. Deutch, D-Boca Raton, has sponsored legislation that would go in the opposite direction by increasing raises for Social Security recipients.
