Does recent GOP tax and DACA legislation affect Social Security?

The wailing and hyperbole from the left side of the aisle would lead you to believe that recent GOP legislation for tax cuts and job improvement, as well as the rescission of the DACA (“Dreamers”) program, would devastate the Social Security program, already under intense financial pressure forecast to come to a head in 2034.  There’s little doubt that Social Security needs to be fixed, but careful analyses of those two new legislative acts by Social Security’s Trustees reveals that both programs will have a “negligible net negative” effect on Social Security. The reality is that, despite the hubris emitted by both sides, the blame for Social Security’s current financial situation lies within each party’s doorstep and their refusal to compromise.
