Entitlement has become a dirty word, a negative word. Politicians have learned to utter it with a sneer as they explain that entitlements have caused our deficit and cutting entitlements is the only way to balance the budget. They are rewriting Webster’s International Dictionary, which uses expressions like “money due” and “earned” in defining entitlement.
