Few Know How to Maximize Their Social Security Benefit

The results of a recent Nationwide/Harris poll revealed a startling truth – most Americans know precious little about the Social Security program which they will almost certainly heavily rely on in retirement. Though many know a few of the basics, such as Social Security can be claimed at age 62 and that their earnings affect their benefit amount, only a small percentage of Americans have any idea how to maximize the benefit that will sustain them in retirement.
